The 87,000-square-foot Center for Science & Innovation Building in STEM Education includes new laboratories, faculty offices, classrooms, and facilities for a new graduate program. The project consists of building new laboratories, laboratory support, faculty offices, classrooms, the College of Natural & Behavioral Sciences Dean’s Office, the Center for Innovations of STEM Education, Fab Lab, and facilities for new graduate programs that are to be offered through the College of Extended Education. The Toyota USA Foundation gifted a $4 million grant to Cal State Dominguez Hills to this project which prepares students in Southern California for careers in science, technology, engineering and math. The grant will support the Toyota Center for Innovation Lab in the STEM Education building. The center will include a fabrication lab, labs for K-12 teacher demonstrations and training, SMART classrooms, collaborative work spaces and an outdoor work space. This project will achieve LEED Gold Certification or greater.
