As one of the largest enclosed shopping centers in the San Francisco Bay Area, Hillsdale Shopping Center attracts over eight million affluent and fashion-conscious shoppers annually, drawing from a market area with household incomes twice the national average. Plans for the 12.5-acre northern portion of the center involve tearing down the Sears building and redeveloping the surface lot facing El Camino Real, include 291,519 SF of retail, dining, and entertainment space centered around an outdoor plaza. New entertainment features will include an 870-seat Cinepolis luxury movie theater and a Pinstripes bowling alley and entertainment center. A new dining terrace will be enhanced by a vibrant outdoor plaza, pedestrian walkways, lush greens, and floral landscaping.
